Rim Database for Bicycle Wheels

Search through the database of 629 rim from 42 different manufactures.

Measuring the rim is the important part to correctly calculate the spoke length. The measurements within the database are accurate to best as possible, however, it is always a good idea to measure your rim, to make sure they match. This can be especially true for used rims, as they can deform over time. The rims ERD and other information is taken from multiple sources.

  • Directly from the manufacture
  • Hub measurements I have added over time
  • An outdated excel sheet from here
  • And from you
How to measure the ERD can be found on this page.

Search

Search through the make and models. When searching, it is best to use the manufactures name with the model. This is because the search will not return a result if you use two letter or less.

When numbers are used only, the ERD will be searched

Brake Type and Spoke Count

Is the rim designed for caliper or disc brakes? And how many spoke holes are there. When searching for your rim, spoke count can be ignored. However, the the brake type can be of some use here.

What brake type is the rim for?
Choose spoke hole counts
Does the rim have eyelets?

Nipple Length and OSB

Some rim manufactures recommend a nipple length for a selection of their rims. Mavic is a good example of this. However, this can be skipped when searching for your rim. On the other hand, the Left and Right OSB can be very beneficial to your search.

Recommended Nipple Length
Are the spoke holes offset?

Rim Width

If you require a particular rim or tyre width for your frame, then this section will be of use to you. Depending if your rim is hooked or hookless, the recommended min and max tyre width changes. However, as a rule of thumb for hooked rims, your inner rim width should be between 32% to 70% of the tyre width. This topic is covered in depth on Bike Rumor and Sheldon Brown, or search on-line for ISO 5775.
